Some pics I took

Here are some additional pics I took from Saturday's gallery opening for my friend's show LIFE INSIDE. I made some minor adjustments to the photos to give it a more commercial look I guess. Kinda like the images I see in magazines and ads....

This is a detail of the wall installation done by Philth at the show.

Today I went to a gallery opening for my friend John's exhibit, LIFE INSIDE. Here is what was there....

John and I muggin it up...

These two cats were the coolest. Super friendly and just straight up and down. NO BS. Talked about being the subject of the photograph, living in LA, the changes from old school to now. Very cool....again, never judge a book by its cover. I would love to chill and have coffee with these guys and just chat about shit. Super cool.

This was the center piece in the room. A completely designed and engraved jail toilet. The engravings or etchings were sooo detailed. Just crazy looking. What a statement this piece made.

If you want to see the rest of the pics...go to my flikr...

Are you in?

SUGOI Life!!!

This is SUGOI Life! For those that don't speak Japanese, SUGOI is like WOW! or COOL! This is my friend's friend's store.

Talk about cool stuff. The owner is a cool dude and is opening a second store in woodland hills soon. He has the direct hook up in Japan for all these crazy crap. The store LITERALLY sells all kinds of stuff. Japanese household items, T shirts, manga, posters, Gundam models, Pocky, stickers, DVDs, magazine, pillows. I mean whatever...it is very cool. If you are in Northridge and at the mall, give is a visit. Check out www.sugoilife.com

Red Cane Cola - Thee Bestest!

OK I am a NEW fan of Seattle's Best Coffee. OMG. My new fave drink in all the world...

This is RED CANE COLA available at SEATTLE'S BEST COFFEE. Not too many around, but they are in Border's Book Stores! This is soooo good. It is a cola obviously made from natural sugar cane for sweetness, NOT High Fructose Corn Syrup. So it is lighter, not as fattening or as bad for you, less calories and they top it with this whip topping and sprinkles....and then of course I have it with a shot of Vanilla. Man oh man...that is some good ass cola. I am on a quest for this drink now...in my area. There is Border's on Lake in Pasadena, I am going to check it out, they better have it there!

PANERAI Mare Nostrom

Panerai PAM08...42MM Mare Nostrom in Black Dial. Made in ONE year only...1997. That's it. the watch also came in a white and blue face variety.

and the standard "wrist shot."

Sea Harbour Dim Sum

I met my friend today for dim sum at Sea Harbour Restaurant in Rowland Heights. The food is pretty good...but man...it was EXPENSIVE! It is pretty crazy. The bill was close to $70 for 3 adults and 3 kids that didn't even eat. Crazy money.

Standard Siu Mai
Lotus Cake, these were kinda spicy, I usually like it when it is fried fresh.
Standard Har Gow....
and my fave...egg tarts.

Graphite is the new BLACK

I have always been a big fan of LV Louis Vuitton. All my wallets since college have been LV. My current one is the Taiga collection of which I have the wallet, biz card case and key valet all matching. Anyways...I have a new must have....

Talk about hotness. LOVE THE GRAPHITE color for the NEW DAMIER collection. LV copyrighted the checkerboard design they use back in the late 1800s and to be honest I was never a big fan...until NOW. That grey and back looks HOT. I may switch up from my Taiga for some graphite....

Wallet Options for the non ballerifics....

What makes them cool is they are made in the USA in SMALL quantities by family artisans. If you go to the site, you will see. This "flap" wallet for example, only 100 were made and when I checked there was only 87 left. They have other "cool" designs for wallets as well...all hand crafted and in the USA...not bad. Prices are great too. An AWESOME present for that person that has EVERYTHING....something pretty special and limited edition.

Los Angeles Street Art

One thing great about living in LA is the weather. Of course..then we got the women...no doubt there. We got hot cars...and we got Hollywood and the movie industry. One other cool thing that can be looked at either as a blessing or a curse...is GRAFFITI...LA has some of the best street art in the world.

There is just some AMAZING art on the streets of LA. Just gotta look for it.

Little Tokyo Lunch

Met a couple of my friends today in J Town for a quick meeting about some possible new business. Man...I need some business right about now. Anyways....after we met we went to the Little Tokyo Plaza and ate at this little place next to Mitsuwa.
My friend had the Mabo Bowl....it was spicy and pretty good according to him.

This was my combo. I had the Shoyu Ramen with Fried Rice and Gyoza. The Ramen was pretty good. The broth was flavorful but the noodle portion was kinda low. The best was the fried rice. It was really good and surprisingly the gyoza was kinda booty. I ate em anyway...but yeah how can you ruin a gyoza? I guess I found out..it just tasted funky. All in all, a decent lunch.

My Kicks V3.0

Just received my JAWBONE 2nd GEN Bluetooth headset. I had the original Jawbone and was pretty happy with it. But when this bad boy came out and I was able to get it at a pretty deep discount, I had to jump on it. First thing you will notice is the packaging is top notch. It really feeds into this is the premium of bluetooths. The box is very nice looking.

As you can see it is much smaller....and has a nice leather loop. Also the buttons and led are all pretty much hidden. Very cool and not so "star trek" ish like others.
Check out all the stuff it comes with....

and giving it the first charge via USB....50 mins full, 35 mins for 80%. So I just want to pair it and let it charge.

Can Someone Buy Me THIS PLEASE??

Euro Pane - Pasadena

This morning I met my friend Donna for brunch. She is a fine art photographer and I am helping her with her bio that she needs as she gets into more and more exhibits. We met at Euro Pane in Pasadena a cool little bakery that has her photos hanging inside.

Fresh fruit bowl.
Here is the best of the best of Egg Salad sandwiches. I mean wow. I am not a huge fan of egg salad, but Donna wanted me to try it and what a surprise. It is damn good. Highly reccoed. If you are in the area or a fan of egg salad...you have to try it. EXCELLENT!
